Discipleship

We believe it is vital to train up children to be Real Followers of Jesus. We aim to train them in essential doctrines and in Christian living.

Empowerment

We believing in helping the next generation in discovering their gifts and in teaching them to use their God-given talents to serve the body of Christ.

Discipleship Goals

We aim to help the next generation not just know about Jesus, but to know Him personally.

Our youth and kids' classes and services aim to provide a clear understanding of the Gospel. We regularly teach the Good News of Jesus, and admonish youth and children to respond with repentant faith.

It is vital that our kids learn about Jesus and the essential events of the church in these most formative years. We accomplish this—in part—by the following means:

  • Help children grasp and respond to the Gospel.

  • We use the Gospel Project Curriculum on Sundays, which takes the kids through the entire Bible every three years.

  • We believe the best way for kids to learn is through questions and answers; we use a catechism to help them memorize the key tenets of the Christian faith.

  • We teach kids the importance of world missions by participating in BGMC.

Our desire is that our teenagers would have a vibrant relationship with Jesus and that—by the time they graduate—they will be equipped to defend the faith.

  • We teach teenagers how to read their Bibles and have vibrant prayer lives, and how to walk with Jesus in a post-Christian culture.

  • We help teens navigate secular, cultural issues in a way that is congruent with the Holy Scriptures.

  • Christian teenagers are—no doubt—continually faced with objections to Christianity. We work diligently to help them defend the faith.

  • Our teens participate annually  in youth camp, where they get to learn more about the Bible, experience God in a powerful way, and connect with other Christian teens from across our Commonwealth.

  • Our youth participate in missions through Speed the Light; they also have opportunities to go on mission trips.
