CloseAs Christians, we may sacrifice food, or give up other things for a time. But why DO we do this? How do we know we are doing so with good, spiritual reasons in our hearts?
When Christians Fast with a desire to be closer to and feel a keener need for God, these are good signs. When we partner our Fasting with Prayer, we are on the right road. Our Fasting now is different than was done under the former, Judaic law.
Our Fasting is to be an expression of worship to the Lord. It can prepare us to minister to others. Best of all, it reminds us of what we need – the Word of God. After all, we are not to live by bread alone.
In today’s sermon, the fourth part of the “Prayer and Fasting” series, Pastor Chris discusses what the Bible tells us, with particular focus on Fasting.
