Real Life Community Church is in downtown Richmond, KY near EKU — a growing, vibrant community of gospel-centered people striving to be more like Jesus.
We are committed to helping people grow in their faith and become Real Followers of Jesus through biblical teaching, intentional discipleship, evangelism, and genuine community.
We desire to reach the greater Richmond area, meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of those who are hurting.

What Makes Real Life Different?
Every worship service places a strong emphasis on biblical teaching through expository preaching — evident in Pastor Chris’s relatable teaching style and the church’s Christ-centered perspective.
We value liturgy, practicing call-and-response and catechesis. We sing traditional hymns and blend in contemporary worship, striving to find expression for every individual — not just a single generation or style.
Our heart is to disciple the whole family. Adults are shaped through expository preaching and small groups; our children are taught the faith through catechesis; and our youth learn both doctrine and apologetics, so they are prepared to defend what they believe.

What does a typical Sunday Service look like?
Our services include a ‘Call to Worship with Scripture’ and prayer, God-glorifying music, an expository sermon with practical application, and Communion.
Do you provide children's church?
Yes! Niki May serves as our Kid’s Director, and we have a team of trained, background-checked volunteers committed to teaching Real Life Kids the Word of God.
Sundays, we offer nursery/kid’s church for nursery – 5th grade. Wednesdays, there is no kids church service, but nursery care is available.
Our Youth Group (6th – 12th) meet Wednesdays at 7PM.

How can I get to know the church's staff?
During your first Sunday service, you will be invited to a special VIP Room (with delicious snacks), where you can meet our lead pastor and find out more information about our church.
From there, our pastors, deacons, and ministry directors will welcome you via phone call, email, and/or in-person meetings.
What type of music do you offer for worship?
Sundays consist of a blend of genres, including traditional hymns, contemporary worship songs, and modern hymns.
We aim to sing songs that are God/Christ-Centered and theologically rich.
Do you support missionaries?
Our church is committed to supporting missionaries and Gospel work both here at home and around the world. We currently support numerous missionaries and ministries on a monthly basis, reaching our local community as well as the nations.
Local and world missions are both close to our heart — we believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus right here in Richmond while also partnering with those taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
Is your church affiliated with a denomination?
We are officially part of the Assemblies of God, but our congregation is made up of wonderful Christians from a variety of Christian, Protestant traditions.
What ways are you involved in your community?
We love Richmond! Below are a few of the ways we are involved in our community:
- Ben and Deanna host a Real Life young adults small group on the EKU campus while school is in session.
- We serve weekly at the Madison Home Homeless Shelter.
- We support God’s Outreach, Richmond’s local food bank.
- We are members of the Chamber of Commerce.
- Various other community outreaches and events.
What is the style of preaching?
Our pastors preach in an expository fashion, with deep theological content and practical application.
Generally, we teach through books of the Bible, though we occasionally preach sermon series.
